Stephen Curry scored 29 points, including four three-pointers, Jonthan Kuminga added 28 points and 10 rebounds, and the Golden State Warriors overcame a lethargic first-half performance to defeat the Brooklyn Nets 109-98 on this past Monday night Barclays Center. The Warriors have won three of their last four games and maintain a 22-25 record.

Brooklyn started the first 24 minutes shooting 41.7% from the floor, led by Cam Johnson’s 13 points, while the Warriors shot 38.3% from field goal range and an abysmal 2-11 from behind the arch, with both threes coming from Curry, who scored 10 of his 12 first-half points in the final 5:16 of the second quarter to cut the deficit to a half-a-dozen at intermission.

In the third, Kuminga scored the first 6 points less than 90 seconds into the quarter, igniting Golden State, who outscored Brooklyn 32-21 in the period.

In the final quarter, Curry scored his final 12 points to secure the win for Golden State. The former two-time league MVP was the only Warrior to make a three-pointer in the contest, going 4-11, while the rest of the team went 0-11.

Cam Thomas led the Nets with 18 points in defeat. Nic Claxton, who was ejected in the fourth quarter after being assessed a flagrant 2 foul and Mikal Bridges, finished with 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Brooklyn. Royce O’Neale scored 15 points, including five three-pointers in the final quarter, for the Nets.

The Nets, who have lost four of their last six home games, have a 20-29 record and 11th place in the Eastern Conference. The Nets hosted their former player, Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks this past Tuesday night.
