The reality of what the Giants have been since they won their last championship fourteen years ago was back at the forefront on Sunday afternoon when they took their fourth loss of the season, against one win. They fell 26-14 to the New Orleans Saints at the Superdome.  Rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart excited Giants fans the previous week against the LA Chargers in leading the team to their first win of the season in what was also his first start of his NFL career. On Sunday against New Orleans he threw for 202 yards for two touchdowns and two interceptions. Dart also lost a fumble. Said Dart afterwards, “obviously, you don’t win many games when you have five. We had a lot of opportunities. We were just moving the ball down the field and we just hurt ourselves. In the NFL, every team is a good team. Every team has talent and l just kind of felt like we just kind of gave the game away by those five turnovers.”

Giants running back Cam Skattebo and wide receiver Darius Slayton fumbled as well. Skattebo’s fumble was returned 86 yards for a Saints touchdown. Each turnover came consecutively for New York. “Credit the Saints. Hard to win when you turn the ball over five times, and it was five consecutive drives,” said Giants Head Coach Brian Daboll after the game.

Daniel Bellinger had a team-high 52 yards receiving and running back Cam Skattebo had 45 yards receiving on a team- high 6 catches for the Giants.  Skattebo also led the Giants in rushing with 59 yards. Giants play the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night.

It’s a short week for Big Blue as they host divsion rival and defending champion Philadelphia Eagles Thursday night. The Eagles will not be in a good mood as they saw their 4-game winning streak snapped when they gave up 18, 4th quarter points to the Denver Broncos in the 21-17 loss in front of their home fans. Ex-Giants running back Saquon Barkley missed the team’s practice Monday. The team has not said if he would be available by kickoff.
