Cam Thomas scored a game-high 25 points, including 5 three-pointers, Nic Claxton added 20 points and 11 rebounds, and the new look Brooklyn Nets, which traded away Spencer Dinwiddie to the Toronto Raptors for Dennis Schroder and Thaddeus Young, who was later waived, and Royce O’Neale to the Phoenix Suns, defeated the San Antonio Spurs 123-103 at home on Saturday, February 10. With the win, the Nets snapped a four game home losing streak.

Schroder, off the bench, had 15 points and 12 assists in his first game as Net, aiding Brooklyn in spoiling Victor Wembanyama’s Barclay Center debut, the same arena where he was drafted first overall last June. Wembanyama led the Spurs with 21 points.

Mikal Bridges and Dennis Smith Jr each scored 14 points for the Nets. Ben Simmons scored a season-high 13 points for Brooklyn.

Devin Vassel and Keldon Johnson scored 17 and 19 points, respectively, for San Antonio, which have dropped seven consecutive games. The Spurs, led by legendary head coach Greg Poppovich, maintain the worst record in the Western Conference at 10-43.

Brooklyn, now 21-31, hosted the Boston Celtics, boasting the best record in the league at 40-12, on this past Tuesday night and then traveled to Boston for the second game Wednesday night.
