Nash’s Squad Off To A Slow Start

For the second time in less than two weeks, the Brooklyn Nets lost a
game despite two of their NBA superstars scoring 35 or more points.
Kyrie Irving scored 39 points and Kevin Durant scored 37, but it was
not enough to overcome Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, as
Brooklyn lost 129-125 in an overtime thriller last night at Barclays
Center.

Doncic was even better than Durant and Irving, scoring 41 points,
dishing out 14 assists, and grabbing 11 rebounds. The loss dropped the
Nets to 1-4.

If the game itself wasn’t bad enough, at least two announcements had
to be made to fans about throwing items on the court, which allegedly
included ice or ice cream that interrupted play while the court was
cleaned. It was reported that the fan was arrested.

Brooklyn Nets head coach discussed the loss after the game.

“I thought we sustained our intensity,” he said of the team’s effort.
“I thought we played a more complete game, so I think that’s growth,”
added. “We’ve had some big pockets where we had let downs or sort of
got away from our principles, but tonight I thought there was a much
better overall effort.”

Injuries are playing a factor in the early-season struggles of the
team. But Coach Nash may not have long before he is under fire from
ownership about the team’s performance. Brooklyn hosts Indiana
tomorrow.
