The horrendous start to the season continued as the Brooklyn Nets lost
their fourth in a row, falling to the Indiana Pacers 125-116 at
Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Kyrie Irving led the team with
35, while Kevin Durant added 26. Ben Simmons flirted with a
triple-double with nine points, nine assists, and eight rebounds.

While the Nets battled in the overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks
Thursday, the same effort wasn’t there last night.

Brooklyn head coach Steve Nash ripped the team’s effort following the loss.

“I didn’t see the will, didn’t see the desire, or the connectivity
necessary to get stops and get rebounds,” he fumed. “We just got to
make a bigger commitment and it’s got to mean more and we got to care
more.”

Brooklyn held a players-only meeting following the loss but refused to
detail reveal what was discussed.

When asked if any of Irving’s controversial social media posts
impacted the team, Durant said no. Brooklyn owner Joe Tsai reacted on
Twitter.

“I’m disappointed that Kyrie appears to support a film based on a book
full of anti-semitic disinformation. I want to sit down and make sure
he understands this is hurtful to all of us, and as a man of faith, it
is wrong to promote hate based on race, ethnicity or religion.”

In a scheduling oddity, the Nets will host Indiana again on Halloween.
