The New York Knicks jumped on the Atlanta Hawks, who were without prized off-season acquisition Dejounte Murray for most of the game
after he sprained his ankle in the first quarter, early and often, leading by 14 in the first quarter and going on to defeat them 113-89.

Julius Randle led the Knicks with 34 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and six made three-pointers, making him the first Knick ever to accumulate at least 30 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and five made three-point shots, according to ESPN. Quentin Grimes added 23 points on 8-11 shooting.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau reacted to the dominant performance of Randle. “I thought he came out and he read the game well,” Thibodeau
expressed. “I thought he got into a good rhythm. He made quick decisions and rebounded the ball. He did everything. And when one guy starts doing it, it becomes contagious.”

Randle spoke about his dominant performance.
“I was just having fun out there,” he expressed. “I don’t worry about misses and makes and making mistakes, just about having fun.”

Obi Toppin left the game with a sore right knee and did not return.

The New York Knicks travel to Charlotte on Friday to take on the Hornets.
