The New York Football Giants saw their season come to an end Saturday night in Philadelphia with a 38-7 loss to their division rival Eagles.  The loss was the third for the Giants against Philadelphia this season, and they have not won there since 2013.

The clock struck midnight for quarterback Daniel Jones. He failed to follow up another strong performance after having arguably the best game of his career the previous week in their playoff opener in Minnesota.

Jones now enters the offseason as an unrestricted free agent and the Giants have to decide whether to invest a long term contract worth big money on him or pursue other options at the most important position on the field.  The Giants could use the franchise tag on Jones which would prevent him from walking away, but they may use that for running back Saqon Barkley.  Barkley, also now becomes a free agent and is one of the more dynamic playmakers in the NFL.   Barkley had a big season after injury plagued seasons the previous three.

Jones finished the game completing 15 passes in 27 attempts as the Eagles defense pressured him all game. After running circles against the Minnesota defense, Jones was only able to gain 24 yards in 6 attempts. Barkley was ineffective as well rushing for only 61 yards on 9 carries. Out of the backfield, Barkley caught 2 passes for 21 yards.

Jones has a 21-31-1 record in four seasons as Giants starting quarterback and has thrown 60 touchdowns and 34 interceptions. He has stated that he wants to stay a member of the New York Giants.
