NBA superstar Kevin Durant returned to action last night after being out for about six weeks and the Brooklyn Nets looked spectacular against the Miami Heat in the first half, leading by as many as 16 points. But with Durant being the only superstar threat with Kyrie Irving not available because of the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and Ben Simmons for at least another week, Miami adjusted to a zone, they easily handle the Nets in the second half and in 113-107 victory.

Durant discussed Miami’s adjustments. “You gotta give Miami credit for throwing some junk in the game. That’s what they’ve been practicing and building those habits all year,” he explained. “So, they were able to rely on some different schemes. Trapping and pressing and playing zone the whole second half to cool us off.”

Durant scored 31 points and looked like, well, Kevin Durant and discussed room for growth. ”I felt great,” he said. “I’m only going to get better, more comfortable out there.”
