Not too long ago, Bill Belichick returning to the Meadowlands to face the New York Giants, whom he spent 12 seasons with from 1979-1990 as an assistant coach, would be big news. Especially with the Super Bowl history the two teams share with the Giants upending Belichick and the Patriots in 2007 and 2011. But Sunday’s Giants versus Patriots matchup was one of the least intriguing games on the NFL schedule. The Giants came in with three wins through eleven games and the Patriots had won just two of their first ten.

The Giants with their New Jersey bred third string quarterback Tommy Devito won their second game in a row, 10-7.  The Giants opened the scoring in the second quarter on a 12-yard touchdown strike from Devito to receiver Isaiah Hodgins to take a 7-0 lead.  New England tied it in the third quarter on a 7-yard touchdown run from running back Rhamondre Stevenson. The Giants got a fourth quarter field goal for the final score of the day.  With New England’s poor record three of the last four seasons since quarterback Tom Brady left there are rampant rumors that Belichick and the Patriots organization may part ways after the season.
