The Brooklyn Nets have announced a few off-season moves since the NBA draft on June 22.

The Nets just signed Former Blazers Forward Trendon Watford last week. New supporting talent could help position Brooklyn for the playoffs next year.

In the NBA draft, the Nets selected Noah Clowney with the 21st pick, Dariq Whitehead with the 22nd pick, and in the second round, Jalen Wilson. Since then they added a first-round pick from the 2019 NBA draft, former forward for the Oklahoma City Thunder Darius Bazley and forward Lonnie Walker IV last month in addition to Watford.

Lonnie Walker IV could back up Mikal Bridges at SG. Yet the Nets have few players over 6’9. A player like Clowney at 6’10 210lbs. could fill a void for physicality, especially on the offensive end, as he would provide more of an interior presence.

Bridges was lights out, averaging 26 points per game in 27 games with the Nets, and would lead the team as their shot taker and creator. The team is guard heavy in terms of talent, but bigger guys like Cameron Johnson and Day’Ron Sharpe could certainly see more action this year.

Ben Simmons would be a huge X-factor, especially on the offensive end if he becomes anywhere near as impactful as he was early in Philadelphia. The Nets offense could take a huge leap.

The Nets roster moves could lead them to the play-in tournament and potentially the playoffs. Brooklyn’s new building blocks could help solidify the structure for the future, while giving its fans a decently competitive team.
