The New York Knicks are playing their best basketball in years. After a 109-106 win in Indiana on Sunday night the Knicks have now won seven straight games, with the last three coming on the road, and they have a record of 17-13. The win streak is their longest since the 2020-2021 season, which was just two years ago, but it was a covid season with very little fans and media in the building, which took some of the pressure off a team that has mostly underachieved for the better part of the previous 20 years. The last time they had a win streak of seven games before that was in the 2013-14 season.
First year Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson continued his brilliant play with a game high 30 points. Julius Randle added 25 points and 14 rebounds, and RJ Barrett finished with 24 points. The trio are one of only two in the NBA averaging 18 points or more. The other being the Golden State Warriors who have four. New York looked to win their 8th straight game when they hosted the Golden State Warriors this past Tuesday night. The Warriors were without guard Stephen Curry who wrenched his left shoulder last week.
The Knicks currently hold the number six spot in the Eastern Conference standings and have four games this week, ending Christmas Day at home against the Philadelphia Seventy Sixers.
