In his return to the boxing ring after losing his unified lightweight titles to George Kambosos at the Hulu Theater in New York City, Teofimo Lopez secured a victory with a seventh-round stoppage of Pedro Campa in Las Vegas, Nevada in his junior welterweight debut.
Lopez didn’t hesitate by challenging the best in his new division after his victory. “We want Josh Taylor,” he said. “We want these guys. We want {Regis} Prograis. We want {Jose} Zepeda. We want all the belts. We want to become two-time undisputed champion.”

Lopez also hinted that his next fight will be back in New York City in December. But how impressive was his victory?
Campa isn’t exactly a household name and Lopez was expected to win by knockout earlier than he did. Has he shaken off his first career loss and is he ready for the elite in a new division? I would say at least one more fight is needed in the new weight class before challenging for another title.
