For second week in a row, the Kansas City Chiefs come from a double digit deficit to take out the Tennessee Titans earning them a trip to Super Bowl LIV (54) after their 35-24 victory. The Chiefs “D “ held Titans running back Derrick Henry to only 69 yards after he ran for more than 180 yards in the previous 2 playoff games. KC’s QB Patrick Mahomes (last year’s league MVP) stayed hot throwing for 294 yards, 3 td’s adding aN electrifying 27 yard td run when it looked like he would be sacked for a loss. Kansas City will be making their 3rd Super Bowl (the first in 50 years) appearance and it will be the first time in 15 years that head coach Andy Reid will be leading his team. Reid last took the Philadelphia Eagles to the big game only to lose to the New England Patriots In 2005.
They will face the San Francisco Forty Niners who handled the Green Bay Packers earlier in the season. Sunday was no different. The 9ers jumped out to a 27-0 lead as they coasted to their 7th Super Bowl in franchise history with their 37-20 over Green Bay. Little known 9ers running back Raheem Mostert ran for 220 yards and 4 touchdowns as their offensive line mauled the Packers defensive front line. Mostert’ s claim to NFL fame up to that point was being cut by 7 different teams. San Fran’s QB Jimmy Garoppolo threw for only 77 yards completing 6 of 8 passes. The Niners will be looking for their 6th Super Bowl Championship.
Super Bowl LIV (54) will take place Sunday, Feb.2nd at Hard Rock Stadium home of the Miami Dolphins 6:30pm est. The National Anthem will be sung by Demi Lovato and the halftime show will be performed by Jennifer Lopez and Shakira.
