With Kevin Durant out of the game with a shoulder injury Brooklyn Nets second year head coach Steve Nash discussed his injury during the pre-game press conference. “We don’t feel concerned that it’ll linger or that he’d miss the next game,” Nash said.

Without Durant the team started out sluggish, trailing the Orlando Magic by as many as 19 points in the first half and it looked like it was going to be a long night for the home team.

But a huge game by James Harden, who finished with 36 points,10 rebounds, and 8 assists, combined with LaMarcus Aldridge scoring 11 of his 15 points for the night in the fourth quarter led the team to a 115-113 win at Barclays Center.

After the game, Harden talked about the contributions from the Brooklyn bench. “Guys stepped up honestly,” Harden said. “James (Johnson) stepped up, LaMarcus (Aldridge) did a good job closing. Patty (Mills) did what he does, Blake (Griffin) finished well at the rim, so it was a collective effort.”

Johnson, who had 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, also discussed the defensive effort in the comeback win. “As soon as we buckled down and realized this team was in here for real, then we figured it out,” he said.

Brooklyn plays in Cleveland Monday night against the Cavaliers, who they defeated last Wednesday before hosting division rival Boston on Tuesday. The Phoenix Suns come to Brooklyn Saturday night.
