AP Wins In Coaching Debut

Off the heels of one of the worse losses in recent franchise history to the New York Jets, which can only be described as Gloomy Sunday, the New York Football Giants traveled to Las Vegas in Week 9 and were officially dropped to the mat with no getting back up. Former Giants Pro Bowl Linebacker and member of their 2007 championship team, Antonio Pierce, made his coaching debut for the Raiders after being hired last week when the organization relieved Josh McDaniel of his head coaching duties.  The move inspired the Raiders who whooped up on the Giants from beginning to end.  Las Vegas led 24-0 at halftime and 27-0 after three quarters and won by the final score 30-6.

The Giants saw their starting quarterback Daniel Jones return to the lineup following a three game absence with a neck injury.  He lasted a quarter and a half before suffering a tear to his Anterior Cruciate ligament in his knee.  He will miss the remainder of the season.  Now at 2-7 the Giants season has spun out of control and the organization must now assess whether it is better for the team to compete over the final eight games or lay down in order to secure the highest draft position possible in next year’s NFL Draft.
