Injury Taking Toll On Tyrese

The Indiana Pacers are one game away from elimination in the NBA Finals as they lost game five on Monday night 120-109 to Oklahoma City who now lead the series 3 games to 2. Oklahoma City got 31 points from 2025 NBA MVP Shai- Gilgeous-Alexander and 40 points from Jaylen Williams. The story of the game was how Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton made zero shots from the field in 34 minutes of play. He finished with four points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Reports said Haliburton was dealing with a right calf injury which is the explanation for his poor performance. “It’s the NBA Finals man, I’ve worked my whole life to be here, and I want to be out there to compete and help my teammates anyway I can,” Haliburton said after the game. “I was not great tonight by any means, but it’s not really a thought of mine to not play here. If I can walk I want to play.”
Pascal Siakam led Indiana in scoring with 28 points and Haliburton’s backup TJ McConnell was Indiana’s second leading scorer with 18 points off the bench. Game 6 is Thursday night in Indiana where Pacers will look to save their season.
