Even in year 21, LeBron James shows no sign of aging as he scored 40 points, including nine three-pointers, tying a career-high, guiding the Los Angeles Lakers to a 116-104 road win over the Brooklyn Nets on Easter Sunday. The Lakers have won six of their last seven games and sit in ninth place of the Western Conference standings at 42-33.

The Lakers started the contest on a 17-0 run and led by 23 at halftime. The Nets trailed by as many as 26 in the third quarter, but outscored the Lakers 35-23 in the period, added by Cam Thomas, who scored 11 of his 30 points in the frame.

The Nets cut the deficit to eight following Thomas’ three 18 seconds into the fourth quarter, but LeBron James erupted for Los Angeles, scoring 17 of the team’s 26 points in the period going perfect from the field, including four three-pointers.

The Lakers’ starters scored 114 of the team’s 116 points as Anthony Davis had 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Rui Hachimura scored 20 points.

The Brooklyn Nets sit at 29 – 47 following a 133-111 road loss to the Indiana Pacers last last Monday night.
