Mikal Bridges’ game-high 42 point performance and Nic Claxton’s 16 points and 11 rebounds weren’t enough for the Brooklyn Nets as they suffered a crushing home defeat to the lowly Portland Trail Blazers 134-127 in overtime on Sunday, January 7. With the loss, the Nets fell to 16-21 on the season. Anfernee Simons had 38 points, Jerami Grant scored 27 points, Shaedon Sharpe and Malcolm Brogdon, both off the bench, contributed 21 and 18 points, respectively, for Portland, now 10-25 and the second worst record in the Western Conference.

The Nets face the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday in Paris, France.
