Donte DiVincenzo set a Knicks record for most three-pointers made and the Knicks easily rolled over the Detroit Pistons 124-99 at home Monday night. DiVincenzo scored 40 points in 40 minutes and made 11 of 20 three-point shots.

Before DiVincenzo set the Knicks franchise record in three-point makes the record holder was Evan Fournier who made ten threes in a game for the Knicks during the 2021-22 season. Fournier was guarding DiVincenzo last night as he was traded from the Knicks to Detroit last month. “Ev had a hell of a time here, what he’s done, he’s in the record books for a reason,” DiVincenzo said after the game. “Evan is a hell of a player. The one thing I respect most about Evan is how good of a teammate he was. When things weren’t going his way, he never changed.”

During the game the Knicks honored Willis Reed, the captain of the franchise’s only two championship teams, who passed away a little more than a year ago. The Knicks also celebrated HBCU’s as Reed attended Grambling State University before his time with the Knicks. Reed won Finals MVP in 1970 & 73 and NBA MVP in 1970.
