Miami Gardens, Fl. – Only in the universe that is the New York Jets could something happen to the team when they traveled to Miami to play division rival Dolphins. One week after dominating the Houston Texans and saw the much maligned quarterback Zach Wilson (he was named AFC offensive Player of the week) the team reverted to the “Same Old Jets”. Wilson in fact did not finish the game as he was knocked out before halftime with a concussion. The damage had already been done as Miami jumped out to a 24-0 first half lead en route, or should l say, rout 30-0. The loss officially eliminated Gang Green from the playoffs for the 13th straight year.

Big Game For Waddle

Before his injury, Wilson wasn’t very effective completing only 4 passes for 26 yards in 11 attempts. His back-up Trevor Semien didn’t fare much better throwing for 110 yards completing 14 of 26 passing attempts. The running game was pathetic as the team ran for a putrid 23 total yards. Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa lit up the jets secondary who was playing without star receiver Tyreke Hill (ankle injury in last week’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars). Tua finished his day completing 21 of 24 passes for 221 yards and 1 touchdown.

With a slim chance at making the playoffs and with the thought of bringing back Aaron Rodger’s from his Achilles Tendon injury, the Jets laid a total egg on a day when it finally stopped raining. Said head coach Robert Saleh on whether or not Rodger’s would be activated this week he said, “he’s still in rehab. We got to meet with the doctors. See if there is actual clearance.”

The expectations for the New York Jets went down in flames 4 snaps into the season against the Buffalo Bills. Rodgers insisted he would return this year after an intense rehab program. It would make no sense to play him with a offensive line that is thinner than paper mache. If Wilson does not pass the concussion protocol, Siemen would be the starter when they face the Washington Commanders at MetLife Stadium.
