Lions Defense Feasted On Saquan

By Derrel Jazz Johnson

The 7-2 New York Giants hosted the 3-6 Detroit Lions with the road
team coming in on a modest two-game win streak. After watching the
game at MetLife Stadium yesterday, you would think the records were
reversed, as Detroit dominated the Giants, quarterback Daniel Jones
regressed to old bad habits, and Big Blue suffered a 31-18 home loss
in a game that wasn’t as a close as the score indicates.

Saquon Barkley was stifled by the Detroit defense, gaining only 21
yards on 15 carries, Jones threw two touchdowns, and the Lions rushed
for 160 yards to dominate the line of scrimmage enroute to the upset
win.

Jones discussed the subpar effort after the game. “I think we’re all pretty disappointed
with our effort today and how we played,” Jones expressed. “We’re not up to our standard to, you
know, what we’re capable of doing.”

Jones then discussing the lack of effort. “I think that’s the disappointing part of it,
and we’ve got to evaluate that, study it and make sure we can’t let those things happen
again,” he added. “Another opportunity here in a few days to correct
those things.”

The Giants travel to Dallas to play the rival Cowboys on Thanksgiving
Day. Detroit will host the Buffalo Bills on the first Thanksgiving
day game.
