*A judge has issued a temporary protective order in favor of Ri’za Marie Simpson against actor Djimon Hounsou, despite her recent arrest on assault charges.

According to TMZ, the order mandates that Hounsou maintain a distance of 200 yards from Simpson and their children, and prohibits any contact until a scheduled hearing in February.

Simpson contests her arrest from earlier this month, asserting she was wrongfully detained. Court filings reveal her allegations against the “Gladiator” star include financial abuse and an attempted unlawful eviction from property she considers her residence. She detailed two separate confrontational encounters that prompted her request for legal protection.

According to Simpson’s account, a December altercation involved Hounsou closing a vehicle door on her body, shouting directly at her, and using derogatory language. She described an October incident where Hounsou confronted her aggressively in the presence of their children, positioning himself inches from her face during an intense verbal dispute.

Hounsou’s version of events differs significantly. He reported to authorities that Simpson struck him with a closed fist after he attempted to remove her from a property under his ownership. Law enforcement subsequently arrested Simpson on charges of simple assault and obstruction, the latter stemming from allegations she provided false information during questioning.

Simpson recently made public an audio recording she claims captures the argument preceding the physical confrontation. In the clip, she repeatedly demands the return of her keys and warns Hounsou that removing her from the residence is illegal, threatening to contact police if he continues refusing her request. Simpson maintains that the door-slamming incident occurred after the recording stopped.
