Only the New York Football Giants can win and lose at the same time. They traveled to Las Vegas to play the Raiders with both team sporting the same record at 2-13. The game was nicknamed the “Tanks Bowl” as both teams were trying to put themselves in the position to be able to have the first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. in the 34-10 New York win, it doesn’t look like will happen for Big Blue. Right now, the Raiders would pick first, the Jets second and the Giants third.
New York took a 17-3 haltime lead and never looked back as rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart finished his day completing 22 of 30 passes for 207 yards while running in for two touchdowns. Dart was interception free. The running game accounted for 155 yards and one touchdown. Raiders starting quarterback Geno Smith finished 20 of 28 for a 176 yards throwing 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. The Las Vegas runninggame was non-exsistent gaining only 63 yards.
3 of the Raiders best players were placed on the season ending injured reserve list. Top edge rusher Maxx Crosby, tight end Brock Bowers and safety Jeremy Chin. When Crosby was toldof the decision to sit him, he abrutly stormed out of the team facility.
So in a season that saw the Giants fire their head coach Brian Daboll and saw them lose 11 games in a row before the Raiders game, it looks like they will not be in the position to draft the number one player next May. They finish the year hosting the Dallas Cowboys who will not be in the post season tournament.
It has been that kind of year from the team at MetLife Stadium.
