Knicks Begin New Streak

The Knicks rebounded after seeing their seven game win streak come to an end Friday night, with a 132-125 win over the Miami Heat on Sunday evening. Jalen Brunson tied his Madison Square Garden high with 47 points for the Knicks. His backcourt mate Mikkal Bridges finished with 24 points and made six of seven three point shots. OG Anunoby had 18 points for the Knicks and Josh Hart scored 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Karl Anthony Towns was the one starter who did not score in double digits, in fact he finished with two points and six rebounds in 28 foul plagued minutes.
“You want to have an MVP of the league on your side,” said Knicks Head Coach Mike Brown said of Jalen Brunson after the game. “For him to score 47 on 15 for 26, 6 for 13 from the three point line, and 11 of 11 from the free throw line while dishing out 8 assists. I have to mention it but that’s what he’s capable of doing and that’s what MVP’s are supposed to do on a night like tonight.”
The Knicks are now 20-8 on the season and played old friend Julius Randle and the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night before they return home to play Cleveland at the Garden on Christmas Day.
