The Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night at the Barclays Center 99-95. This was the third meeting between the two teams this season with the Knicks winning all three. Knicks big man Karl Anthony Towns had a game high 25 points and 16 rebounds. The Knicks shot just 46% from the floor and it was a rare game in today’s NBA where neither team reached the 100-point mark. “It shows the grit of this team. We stayed together through the hard times and then found a way to get the win,” Towns said at his locker after the game. “These are games that really touch this team. We talk about camaraderie and we talk about how we are trying to continue to gel, these are games that are a good test for us to see how truly close this team is and I’m proud of us. This locker room stayed focused on the mission even when things weren’t going well, especially in the fourth quarter. I talked about that New York Knicks basketball grit, and we did a great job of showing that tonight.” The Knicks are 5-5 in their last ten games and play Brooklyn again on the final day of the regular season.
The Knicks look to take advantage of their home court as they play their next 4 games at Madison Square Garden. They begin Saturday night, January 25th, when they host the Sacramento Kings. Minnesota Grizzlies come in on Monday the 27th followed by the Denver Nuggets on the 29th. Saturday night February 1st, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers come to the Garden for their only appearance of the year.
