The Giants lost their tenth consecutive game on Sunday afternoon which set a franchise record. The latest debacle was in Atlanta, Georgia against an Atlanta Falcons team that had a rookie quarterback making his first career start. The Giants still couldn’t do better than a 34-7 defeat.

Career backup Drew Lock made the start for the Giants and helped seal their fate by throwing two passes that were intercepted by the Falcons and returned for touchdowns. Michael Penix Jr who was selected eighth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft and completed 18 of 27 passes for no touchdowns and one interception. The Falcons two scores besides the two defensive touchdowns were two touchdown runs for Falcons running back Bijon Robinson who ran for 94 yards on 22 carries.

The loss gives the Giants a 2-13 record which leaves them with the worst record in the NFL. With two games remaining the Giants are in the top position atop next April’s NFL Draft. The Giants have only finished bad enough to have the number one overall pick twice in their history and the last time was 1965.

The Giants host the Indianapolis Colts (7-8) Sunday before finishing their season in Philadelphia the following week. Ex-running back Saquon Barkley will be looking to make history. After losing to the Washington Commanders last Sunday, Barkley rushed for 150 yards giving him 1,838 on the season. Barkley is looking to break the single season record set by Eric Dickerson in 1984 with 2,105 yards in 16 games. Barkley and the Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys Sunday before they host the Giants on the last game of the year. It would be putting salt on the wound if Barkley sets the record against the team who drafted #2 in the 2018 draft.
