Jamaican singer Diana King has shared with her fans news regarding the death of her only child, who passed away on Aug. 5. King’s daughter, Shalamar Diana Wright, was only 33 years old.
King made the tragic announcement on Twitter. Her daughter had been on life support prior to her death. The singer posted several messages on Twitter about the loss of her daughter, along with gratitude for the condolences she’s received.
King noted that her daughter had been on life support, and the decision to keep her on life support or remove her was agonizing but, ultimately, King did not have to choose.
The singer-songwriter also wrote a message of thanks for those who had called or sent text messages as condolences, as well as others who may be suffering from loss and grief.
“FLY FREE MY LU#SHALAMARDIANA I WILL FOREVER MISS U SPOOG. GRATITUDE FOR CHOOSING ME & BLESSING ME WITH YOUR BEAUTIFUL SOUL — MOM.”
King also encouraged parents to love and respect their children and let them express themselves because tomorrow isn’t promised. She also spoke of the pain of having your child pass away first, and gave condolences to those who have also lost a child.
