‘The Game’ reboot could be back as early as 2021

The Game reboot is in the works. Viacom recently announced a plethora of shows are being relaunched under its new streaming platform Paramount + umbrella and The Game is one of them.

The details on the reboot are very slim but the platform is set to debut in 2021. There is no word yet if stars of the show Tia MowryPooch Hall, or Wendy Robinson will return.

The Game debuted in 2006 by Girlfriends creator and executive producer Mara Brock Akil. It was canceled after three seasons but in 2010 BET picked up the series and added new episodes. The series follows the tumultuous relationship of Mowry’s character, Melanie Barnett — a first-year medical student who is dating Pooch Hall’s character Derwin Davis, a professional football player. The comedy shares an inside look into the world of professional sports and all its major players.

The series is in good company. Along with The Game, the service will pick up: a new edition of MTV’s Behind The MusicThe Real Criminal Minds True Crime Series Docuseries; The Offer, a limited series about the making of The GodFather and Lioness by Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
