The internet is still talking about Fergie‘s dreadful version of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ at the 2018 NBA All-Star game. Was it as bad as they say?
‘I think that she would probably admit that it was not her best work. But the girl’s crazy-talented, she really is. And she’s an amazing woman, an amazing human being,’ says Josh Duhamel, her ex, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
‘It’s hard to see someone you care about get beat up like that. But that’s the business — you’re in this business, and you put yourself out there; sometimes you win, and sometimes you don’t,’ he adds.
Fergie has spoken out about the performance and she admits that ‘clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone’.
It’s good to hear Fergie is admitting to the vocal train-wreck and not blaming the sound or her microphone. But we are curious to know — what happened in rehearsals? Didn’t anyone see the failure ahead? She finished the song like she thought she killed it. That said, the performance gave the Internet hours of fun.
