Steelers Expect Wilson To Be Under Center

Joe Flacco and the New York Jets offense struggled, as he completed 28
of 52 for 285 yards and two interceptions. Flacco faced consistent
pressure all game and the Jets failed to get into the end zone in a
27-12 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Flacco faced the fans’ anger, as they chanted for backup quarterback
Mike White to enter the game after incomplete passes. Flacco addressed
it after the game. “Fans want to see you win football games,” said Flacco. “You get the frustration, but it was a two-score game.”

Flacco isn’t wrong, and after the miraculous comeback the previous
week, perhaps some of the Jets faithful were hoping for a
second-consecutive miracle, but the way the offense looked, getting
not one, but two touchdowns and a two-point conversion seemed nearly
impossible in the fourth quarter Sunday.

But help might be on the way. Second-year signal caller Zach Wilson
could return for Sunday’s game. “I’m expecting [him back], but until the doctors say so, I’m just going to say he’s being evaluated,” coach Robert Saleh said after the
loss.

The Jets desperately need a spark on offense and the mobility alone of
Wilson will help the team.

During halftime, the Jets inducted Nick Mangold into the Ring of Honor.

The Jets head to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers Sunday.
