Rapper Jaden Smith recently spoke about dealing with digestive complications and how it has impacted his weight over the years. The Billboard chart-topper sat with his two immediate matriarchs on their Facebook series “Red Table Talk” to dish on a problem that the three of them all share “gut issues.”

On the episode, Smith said that not only does he have an irregular appetite, but he also suffers from candida build-up when he eats too much sugar that causes him pain.

His mother, Jada Pinkett Smith, asks if that comes from pancakes, a breakfast meal that Adrienne “Gammy” Norris would later confirm that the 23-year-old has eaten every day since he was a child.

Jaden corrected, stating that “it’s not necessarily from the pancakes but from the syrup.”

He notes that since he has been working with a nutritionist, he has learned how to eat for his condition. Smith says that he learned what types of vitamins and supplements he needs for his maximum health.

In 2019 on a Health and Wellness episode of “RTT,” the Smith family talked about an intervention they had in support of Jaden, after noticing substantial weight loss.

Surrounded by family, including their son, Pinkett Smith revealed over two years ago, “Will and I had a bit of an intervention with Jaden because he’s a vegan now, but we realized he wasn’t getting enough protein.”
