Harbaugh Impressed By Beckham’s Camp

When Odell Beckham, Jr signed with the New York Football Giants this past spring, it was a long shot he would make the team. Beckham was drafted by the Giants in 2014 and made in immediate impact with dazzling catches. Now, at 33 years old last played for Miami Dolphins in the 2024 season as he had to overcome various injuries. The Giants traded the Cleveland Browns in 2018. The wide receiver group is stacked and when Calvin Austin III was for the year with a torn ACL, Beckham’s chance improved as he got more reps in the 3 pre-season games. He made the best it hauling in 7 catches for 76 yards showing he can get behind cornerbacks and safeties.
Said first year Giants head coach John Harbaugh after the team beat the New York Jets last Friday night, “yes he has done enough to make an NFL roster. He’s gotten better as as the camp as gone along.
Big Blue opens the 2026-2027 season at home Sunday night September 13th against the heated and hated division rival Dallas Cowboys. Beckham wowed the entire NFL when he made a spectacular and dazzling one handed catch against Dallas in his rookie season. He finished his Giants career catching 390 passes for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns. He also made the Pro Bowl 3 times.
“l feel like l gave everything l had,” said Beckham after Harbaugh told him he made the team. “l’m just truly grateful for that opportunity, that experience. It was a tough couple of years, taking a step back and deciding, do you go forward in life? Are you done? The mental battles that we go through and just push through, persevere and overcoming adversity.”
Odell Beckham, Jr may not be the dominant receiver he once was but he will be another option for second year quarterback Jaxson Dart. You can’t put a price on the experience he will bring to the team.
