Ohio Man Facing Charges For Punching A Black Woman, Yelling Racial Slurs

Andrew Walls, a 26-year-old white man in Akron, Ohio, is facing charges after punching a Black woman in the face and yelling racial slurs. Walls was captured on cellphone video, as well as surveillance footage, while attacking Cameron Morgan at a busy recreational area known as Highland Square, Cleveland 19 reports.

Speaking with police, Morgan said Walls used the N-word and other racial slurs while attacking her on the night of Feb. 27. The video shows other resident tackling Walls after he punched Morgan.

Walls is also accused of hitting another woman who was standing near Morgan, Fox 8 reports. As more people became involved in the chaos, Morgan said she tried to breakup the fight, but got pulled to the ground by her hair.

While trying to defend herself amid the chaos, the Akron woman said she hit a man who she believed was Walls. Morgan adds that she eventually escaped the brawl, but also sustained a concussion and a split lip during the fight.

Morgan’s attorney, David Betras, said his client plans to file a lawsuit. Betras said Walls is linked to the far right white nationalist extremist group known as the Proud Boys.

“I will use the courts as a sword to make sure the Proud Boys are thrown on the ash heap of history,” Betras told Fox 8.
