Authorities say a Texas grandmother might spend the rest of her life in prison after confessing to beating her 3-year-old grandson so badly that he died after nearly a week in the hospital.
Angela J. Downing, 57, was arrested and charged with one count of murder this week, according to police.
Nets 9 Not Enough in Loss to Denver
According to the Denton Police Department, Downing brought her grandson to Texas Health Fort Worth Hospital on Jan. 18 with multiple severe injuries. She allegedly informed the hospital staff that her grandson had fallen down a flight of stairs by accident, the press statement stated. Doctors at the hospital, however, saw something unusual about the boy’s injuries and alerted Child Protective Services, who then contacted the Denton Police Department.
