The new year must be one for healing and new chapters, especially for songstress Keyshia Cole. The 38-year-old took to her Instagram Saturday, Jan. 25, to reveal to fans that her mother, 59-year-old Frankie Lons, checked into a facility to receive treatment.

“My day today.  happy YOU DECIDED ON YOUR OWN, to check YOURSELF INTO a facility to get treatment,” Cole wrote.

“Its only been two weeks but, I’m trying to be hopeful and optimistic  Maybe that’s what’ll make THIS TIME different,” she continued.

Throughout the years, Cole has been opened about discussing her mother’s battle with substance abuse since Cole was a child.

It was even televised on Cole’s hit reality show “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is,” and her mother and sister’s show, “Frankie and Neffe.”
