Patients who haven’t gotten the COVID-19 vaccine soon won’t be welcome inside a South Miami doctor’s office.
Dr. Linda Marraccini said she will stop treating unvaccinated people in person beginning Sept. 15, explaining in a letter that she will “no longer subject our patients and staff to unnecessary risk,” according to NBC 6 South Florida.
Unvaccinated patients can still receive treatment through telemedicine from Marraccini, who also offered to refer people to other doctors.

“When it comes to the safety of others, when it comes to the fact that it’s a global health problem and community health problem, at this point, I really say that this is where it draws the line in the sand for me,” Marraccini told the TV station.
She informed patients of her new policy in the letter, and said she gave them a heads up about the change a month before it goes into effect.
Between 10-15% of her patients expressed hesitancy about the inoculation, she told NBC 6 South Florida.
In the letter, Marraccini wrote that the decision is “based on science.”
