The Stellar Awards Gospel Music Show is the first and oldest televised awards show honoring Gospel Music artists for over 35 years. This year’s presentation inspired everyone to keep seeking God’s wisdom while spreading the gospel truth. The acclaimed award show honors the “power of artists who boldly proclaim a Christ-centered identity, represent the unique sounds of their region, and display the rich diversity filling gospel music with a healing and uplifting energy that reaches the masses.” Let the church say A-men!

  The Stellar Awards not only recognizes the year’s best performances in this genre, but also honors gospel music icons and those who have been instrumental in advocating for the gospel industry and their contribution to gospel music’s legacy.

  The 36th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards show — gospel’s music greatest music night — took place live on July 10, 2021, at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN at 8pm ET/5pm PT with an encore presentation at 10pm and will air on BET, BET HER, and BET Gospel on Sunday, August 1, as well as BET International on August 2, 2021. Viewers will also be able to watch the show in national broadcast syndication August 1 through September 5, 2021.

  This year’s ceremony was hosted by gospel legend Tye Tribbett and multiple Stellar Award Winner Jekalyn Carr and featured an eclectic mix of gospel legends and young contemporary artists who are singing the word in their own inimitable style. The show included solid gold inspirational performances from gospel genre’s most celebrated artists including Hezekiah Walker, Mali Music, Jonathan McReynolds, Jokia, Nia Allen, Ali Music, Yolanda Adams, Shelea, Terrian, Kierra Sheard, Avery*Sunshine, Jonathan McReynolds, J.J. Hairston, Maverick City Music, Pastor Mike Jr., Tamela Mann, Jason Clayborn, Hezekiah Walker, CeCe Winans and hosts, Tribbett and Carr.

  The Stellar Awards not only recognizes gospel superstars, but also honors Gospel music icons that have been instrumental in advocating for the gospel industry. Gospel icons, The Clark Sisters, are recipients of the coveted James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award presented by AT&T. The sisters had everyone on their feet and reaching to the sky with their moving performance giving testament to their highest stardom status. In addition, the incomparable Lady Tramaine Hawkins received the Aretha Franklin Icon Award presented by Toyota for her contributions to gospel music. The AT&T Dream in Black Emerging artist performers included Jokia, Nia Allen, and Terrian.
