Pretending has been taken to a new level with Rachel Dolezal.

Dolezal is a former NAACP chapter leader in Washington State who had been outed as a white woman pretending to be black. Talk about a liar.

Dolezal legally changed her name to Nkechi Diallo in 2016.

According to The Atlantic Black star, Diallo recently was charged with welfare fraud.

Diallo was charged this week with theft by welfare fraud, perjury, and false verification for public assistance, Spokane News Station KHQ-TV reported.

According to court documents, Diallo illegally received $8,747 in food assistance and $100 in childcare assistance from August 2015 from November 2017.

After Diallo had written a book in March 2017, Diallo came under investigation. An investigator in Washington State reviewed Diallo’s records and found that she had been reporting her income as usually less than $500 per month.

A subpoena of Diallo’s self-employment record revealed that Diallo had deposited nearly $84,000 into her bank account from August 2015 to September 2017. The subpoena revealed that Diallo didn’t report it to the Department of Social and Health Services.

The $84,000 came from her memoir “In Full Color,” speaking engagements, soap making, doll making and the sale of her art.

Diallo reported a “chance of circumstance” to the state agency. She reported that she did a one time job in October 2017 worth $20,000.

According to court documents, Diallo told investigators she “fully disclosed her information” and declined to answer further questions.
