It’s the most joyous time of the year on Kashyyk, and fans of LEGO Star Wars are all welcomed to journey back to Chewbacca’s homeworld for a Wookiee-sized celebration of the galaxy’s most magical and cheerful holiday—Life Day!
Star Wars Vacation Particular—which premieres on Life Day, November 17, 2020 on Disney+. It sounds like a simple piece of news but it elicits shrugs or shudders from the Star Wars fandom!
This festive celebration of the entire Skywalker saga in the charming lego style will bring together Finn, Rey, Poe, Rose, Chewie and all your favorite droids, from BB-8 to R2-D2, for a jubilant feast on Life Day. The holiday first introduced in 1978’s Star Wars Holiday Special. The new LEGO special is the first to premiere on the streaming platform and will continue the rich long-standing collaboration between LEGO Group and Lucasfilm—the playful, fun and enviable adventures told in an endearingly irreverent manner.

The story background of Lego Star Wars Holiday Special was set after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Rey leaves her comrades and embarks on a new adventure with BB-8 to prepare for Life Day and to acquire a deeper knowledge of the Force. At a mysterious and enigmatic Jedi temple, Rey finds herself chucked into a cross-timeline adventure through memorial moments in cinematic history of Star Wars, coming into contact with the iconic protagonists from all nine Skywalker saga films such as Yoda, Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and other characters.
But will Rey make it back in time for the feast of Life Day? Will she learn the true meaning of holiday spirit? You’ll have to watch to find out.
In September, you will have the opportunity to get a closer look at some of the holiday-themed characters from the special as the 2020 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar releases on the first of next month.
This year, the advent calendar was conceptualized in concert with the development and production of the show. DK will also release a Star Wars-themed LEGO Holiday sticker book—which lets brick fans stick instead of click.
The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special is a production of the LEGO Group, Atomic Cartoons and Lucasfilm. It is written by the co-executive producer—David Shayne and is directed by Ken Cunningham. The executive producers include Josh Rimes, James Waugh, Jason Cosler, Jill Wilfert, Jacqui Lopez and Keith Malone.
Lego fans and star wars fans, don’t miss out. Stay tuned for updates on The LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special on StarWars.com.
