Burrow Overcomes Severe Injury

25-year-old quarterback Joe Burrow will lead the Cincinnati Bengals against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday evening at SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl LVI.
The Rams should not underestimate the young quarterback given his history, stats, leadership and success this season. His accolades reflect his competitive ability, which might drive him to be the show stopper Sunday night.
“You think about it as, going into an off season, working really hard for potential opportunities and this is what you work so hard for,” Burrow said after the AFC Championship game news conference about going from last place in the AFC North during the 2020-2021 season to making it to the Super Bowl. “I think everyone just went into it saying I have to get better as a player so we can be better as a team.”

Burrow led the Bengals to win the championship after they defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27-24 in overtime. The last time the Bengals won the AFC Championship was in 1988. The victory might seem unexpected considering this was only Burrow’s second season with the team and because they faced Patrick Mahomes and the 2020 Super Bowl champions. However, it was no fluke. The Bengals also beat the Chiefs 34-31 during the regular season.
Burrow is no stranger to success and perseverance. Out of Athens, OH, Burrow started his collegiate career at Ohio State as a backup quarterback and finished at Louisiana State University. He won the 85th Heisman Trophy in December 2019, the season he led LSU to win the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship. He broke the single season passing touchdown record with 60, and held the record until 2021. Burrow was selected the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Bengals.
Burrow helped Cincinnati finished 10-7 this season and led the NFL in completion percentage (70.4) this season as he connected on 366 of 520 attempted passes. He threw 34 touchdowns this season.
The Los Angeles Rams must be prepared knowing Burrow is a force to be reckoned with and could potentially deliver a victory for his team.
