In the country or out of the country, the New York Football Giants continue to lose. This time to the Carolina Panthers. Both teams, playing in Munich Germany came into the game with identical 2-7 records. Big Blue had not lost in their previous 3 games overseas but could not overcome a fumble in overtime that led to a Carolina overtime field goal in the 20-17 loss. The Giants had a brief glimmer of hope after field goal kicker Graham Gano (his first game back from a hamstring injury in week 2) kicked a game tying 42-yard field goal. New York won the coin toss and needed a touchdown to end the game. Rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr (18 carries, 103 yards) takes the handoff from quarterback Daniel Jones (22-37, 175 yards, 2 int’s) and gets hit in the backfield by linebacker Josey Jewel coughing up the ball. Said Tracy after the game, “I just didn’t hold the ball correctly. I was trying to make a move, so I got in a hole. Got to get the ball up. That’s on me. I’ve got to live with it.” Three plays later, Eddy Pinero kicks the game winning, 36-yard field goal.

Defensively, the Giants saw Carolina run rough shod over them. The Panthers ran for a total of 188 yards with running back Chuba Hubbard running for 153 yards on 28 carries and 1 touchdown. Said head coach Brian Daboll after seeing his team lose for the 5th straight time, “obviously we’re not where we want to be. We’ll go back. We’ll have our bye week. We’ll evaluate things in the bye week, do the things we need to do. We’ll practice a couple days and evaluate everything.” The loss dropped their record to 2-8.

The New York Football Giants return home Sunday, November 24th when they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-6) who lost at home to the San Fransisco 49ers (5-4) 23-20 this past Sunday. The Niners saw the return of running back Christian McCaffery playing his first game of the season. CMC ran for 39 yards on 13 carries and caught 6 passes for 68 yards. Like the Giants, the Bucs have a bye this week.
