The Brooklyn Nets ended their season last Sunday with a 113-105 loss to their city rival New York Knicks. Brooklyn finishes their season 26-56 and will miss the playoffs for the second year in a row. The Nets have now lost ten straight games to the Knicks. Before that Brooklyn beat the Knicks nine consecutive times. Ever since Brooklyn saw stars Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden ask out of town, the organization acquiesced and the franchise has been on a downward trajectory.

They will enter the NBA Draft Lottery which will take place on May 12th. “I was proud of them for the season we’ve had, the work they’ve put in, the good intentions they’ve had, what we’ve built so far,” Nets Head Coach Jordi Fernandez said following the game when asked what he said to his team postgame. “We’ve got to keep moving on and keep working. I was very happy for the guys. Obviously, we wanted to win that game but couldn’t make it happen.”

Tyrese Martin and Trendon Watford each had a team-high 20 points for Brooklyn. Duke’s Cooper Flagg and Rutgers’ Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper are the projected top three picks of the draft.
