In a reported meeting in London between NBA all-time great Kevin Durant and Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai, Durant reportedly let Tsai know he still wanted to be traded. Durant also reportedly said he would be willing to stay if Tsai replaced head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks.
While the meeting was private, Brooklyn’s owner took to Twitter to profess his support of Nash and Marks in wake of the Durant reports.
“Our front office and coaching staff have my support. We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets,” Tsai tweeted early Monday evening.
So, with Kyrie Irving with one year remaining, Kevin Durant under a new contract, and Tsai once again confirming his support of Nash and Marks, Brooklyn and their marquee players are at an impasse. For the sake of Brooklyn Nets fans, hopefully an agreement that suits all involved can be worked out before the season begins and prevents this soap opera from continuing into the 2022-2023 NBA season.
