The New York Giants blew an opportunity on Sunday night to capitalize off an impressive road win the previous week. Coming off the heels of a 29-20 win in Seattle, the Giants laid an egg offensively and lost to Cincinnati 17-7. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones managed to throw for only 205 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.
Jones ran for 56 yards on 11 carries. Running back Tyrone Tracy picked up 50 yards on the ground and a touchdown. “Tough loss, I thought our defense played very good football,” Giants head coach Brian Daboll said after the game. “They played winning football, to hold those receivers to what we held them to in their passing game. I think Burrow had about 50 yards rushing.” 47 of those yards however came on a first-quarter scramble that led to him reaching the end zone to give Cincinnati a 7-0 lead.
The Giants tied the game in the third quarter with a one-yard touchdown run from Tyrone Tracy but it wasn’t enough to beat an explosive Bengals team. The Giants fall to 2-4 and have a meeting next week with their former running back Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles at MetLife Stadium.
