Jones’ Season Continues To Spiral Downward

Halloween came early for the New York Football Giants when they traveled to Pittsburgh Monday night to face the Steelers. The game was tied at 9 at halftime but Big Blue was outscored 17-9 in the second half in the 26-18 loss. The Giants wasted a great performance by running back Tyrone Tracy Jr who rushed for 145 yards on 20 carries. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 24 of 38 passes for 264 yards, no TD’s, 1 interception and was sacked 4 times. Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson threw for 278 yards, 1 touchdown as he completed 20 of 28 passes. The Giants fell to 2-6 while Pittsburgh improved to 6-2. Said Jones afterwards, “it’s frustrating for sure. Very frustrating. We hurt ourselves a lot and that’s the most frustrating part about it. We’ve got to be more detailed, starting with me. Some of the good stuff that happened was negated by the mistakes.” The Giants host the surprising Washington Commanders Sunday. The last time they faced each other, the Giants did not give up a touchdown in the 21-18 loss. Washington kicked 7 field goals.
