The New York Knicks opened training camp this week, a little more than three weeks before the season opener at home against the Boston Celtics on October 25th.  The Knicks are coming off one of their more successful seasons in years and just the six time they have made the playoffs in the last 22 seasons.  At annual media day before the first practice Head Coach Tom Thibodeau said he was planning to roll out the same starting five as he did a year ago.  A backcourt of Jalen Brunson and Quentin Grimes, to go along with RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson in the front court.

In the offseason the Knicks traded 2020 first round draft pick, and a fan favorite, forward Obi Toppin, to Indiana for a couple of second round draft picks.  The Knicks biggest addition was swingman Donte DiVincenzo who played with Jalen Brunson and Knicks reserve guard Josh Hart at Villanova University where they won championships together.  Most of the roster from a season ago will be returning.  Their All-Star from two of the last three seasons, Julius Randle, along with Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo, were the only players to average at least 25 points and 10 rebounds last season.
