The Brooklyn Nets came out flat and trailed Portland by as many as 18 last night. But luckily for Brooklyn, Seth Curry wasn’t flat in his return after missing three games, scoring 27 points.

Kevin Durant led all scorers with 38 to lead the team to a 128-123 win at Barclays Center.

Durant spoke about what changed during the second half that allowed Brooklyn to go home with a win. “We just upped our intensity and we slowed them down a bit,” Durant said. “Young, energetic team like that, you got to match their physicality and their energy.”

Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash discussed the impact of Curry on the game. “He’s just a really good NBA player. He’s an elite shooter who can score off the bounce, can handle in pick-and-roll, and has a high IQ. He adds a lot to our team. Obviously, we needed all of his points tonight.”

Brooklyn still does not have a timeline in place for the season debut and Brooklyn Nets debut of Ben Simmons. The Nets host the Utah Jazz Monday night.
