The Golden State Warriors led the Brooklyn Nets 63-58 at the end of a very competitive first half that was a scoring duel between former teammates, former NBA MVPs, and current NBA Players of the Week for their respective conferences, Stephen Curry, had 19, and points Kevin Durant, who had 16.
But the Warriors exploded in the third quarter on both sides of the ball, scoring 35 points while holding the Nets to just 18 points, and entered the fourth quarter with a 98-76 lead, going on for a 117-99 win last night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Durant called Curry a master at his craft and credited the defense of his former team. “They played great defense,” Durant said. “They’ve got long defenders and guys that can help, sending bodies all the time when I had the ball.”
Durant also discussed what he could have done better “There’s some shots I wish I could have back” Durant said, specifically discussing the pivotal third quarter.” Once we get down 18 or 20, I was trying to get it back so fast and was taking bad shots. It’s all part of the journey and understanding what level you need to be at.”
Brooklyn looks to rebound tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight.
