The vaccine for Covid-19 still has no prediction of when it will be ready. According to Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn, the goal is that everyone can get a vaccine in the spring, but that depends on several factors.

“At the end of the day, only our career scientists at the Center for Biological Research and Evaluation will make that decision, and will make it solely based on science and data from clinical trials,” said Hahn.

To speed up the process, Hahn said the FDA has been working with manufacturers since day one and has been in touch throughout the manufacturing process, rather than reviewing everything at the end of the process.

“We need to make sure that there are quality and consistency and that each batch has the same capacity to protect all Americans,” said Hahn. “We are very confident in the manufacturing of these developers and will do our part to work with them to ensure that manufacturing can be accelerated as quickly as possible.”
