A disturbing incident at Dublin High School in California has left a mother demanding more action after her 14-year-old son, Dasanni Goodspeed, was brutally attacked by a parent and four masked individuals. The assault, which took place inside the school’s locker room, occurred after Dasanni, a freshman football player, was confronted by a parent who allegedly used a racial slur against him. The Dublin Police are investigating the attack, which involved four older teens, believed to be between 16 and 19 years old, who followed Dasanni into the locker room and beat him, leaving him with a broken nose, black eye, and a concussion.

According to Dasanni, the altercation began outside the locker room when the parent, accompanied by her daughter, approached him and called him the n-word. Feeling threatened, Dasanni retreated into the locker room, but the parent and four others pursued him. The attackers, wearing hoodies to conceal their identities, asked for him by name before launching a violent assault. Dasanni described the terrifying moments when one of the teens sucker-punched him, and the rest joined in, jumping him until the fight eventually broke up. Although he was hospitalized for his injuries, he has since been released, though his mother, Cherie Barfield, says he is still recovering.

The Dublin Unified School District responded to the incident by increasing security measures at the high school, including boosting adult presence in the locker room area and requesting additional police patrols on campus. However, Dasanni’s mother remains frustrated with the school’s handling of the situation, particularly their lack of communication with her family immediately after the attack. Barfield criticized the school for what she perceives as an attempt to cover up the incident and is demanding justice for her son. Despite the school’s ongoing investigation and enhanced security, Barfield insists that someone “dropped the ball,” leading to her son’s severe injuries, and she is determined to get answers.
